Grantmaking Areas


The Richard and Rhoda Goldman Fund honors the legacy and values of its founders, those values are reflected in the Goldman Fund's core program areas and include a strong connection to the local San Francisco community and California, a lifelong concern for the environment, a dedication to reproductive rights and stabilizing global population, and a deep and unwavering commitment to the Jewish people and Israel.

The Goldman Fund supports nonprofit organizations working in the areas of:

Organizations seeking support from the Goldman Fund must have 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service or have a fiscal agent with 501(c)(3) status.

LIMITATIONS

The Goldman Fund receives a large number of requests for many worthwhile projects and organizations in all of our areas of interest. The process is highly competitive. The Goldman Fund is unable to provide support for every project that fits within our guidelines.

The Goldman Fund does not accept unsolicited letters of inquiry or proposals in the areas of strengthening civic institutions in the San Francisco Bay Area, Israel or special projects.

The Goldman Fund does not accept requests for conferences, deficit budgets, direct action or civil disobedience, films, endowment campaigns, fundraising events, grants or scholarships to individuals, or primary or academic research.

The Goldman Fund does not support organizations that are anti-Semitic, question Israel's right to exist, or are biased against the State of Israel.

The Fund does not accept nominations for the Goldman Environmental Prize.
